Art is not always pleasing to the eye. Art speaks to the viewer. Art is a means of communication and sometimes the message isn't pleasant, but it may be necessary. That said, I prefer to communicate more pleasant messages. I prefer to share with others the beauty that surrounds us. This may be the first flower of spring, a newborn babe, or lines created by an architect. My favorite subjects are those reflecting beauty of nature.
